More yellow on a Monday
Two weeks down and away
No reconciliation
For the way we found today
Walked out without a plan
But just had to go dip out
Too many days in parking lots
And falling through rainclouds
Ran down to San Diego
To try and clear my head
And slipped hard on the sidewalk
Fell down and laughed again
Got up and walked to Belmont
And sat around and waited hours
For a surfer to catch a goddamn wave
Suspended thoughts
Wash away with the folks
On bikes down boardwalks
Making the days fade away
Got lost and missed the bus back
Long walk back into town
Two hours down the back streets
Where the bridge is coming down
Late train around the corner
The color starts to fade
The year is getting shorter
But we didn't lose a day
Our never-wills
Won't work so well
Now we've considered
I could've stayed home
And tried to rest
My life to pieces
